Step-by-Step Setup Instructions

Follow these steps carefully to ensure your Trezor wallet is properly secured.

Download Trezor Suite

Before connecting your device, download and install Trezor Suite, the official desktop application for managing your wallet:

Alternatively, you can use the web version at suite.trezor.io.

Security Tip: Always download software directly from the official Trezor website to avoid phishing scams.

Connect Your Trezor Device

Using the provided USB cable, connect your Trezor to your computer:

For Trezor Model T, you'll see the Trezor logo appear on the screen. For Trezor One, the lights will blink.

Install Firmware

Trezor Suite will automatically detect your device and prompt you to install the latest firmware:

  1. Click "Install firmware" in Trezor Suite
  2. Confirm the installation on your device
  3. Wait for the process to complete (about 2 minutes)
Note: Your device may restart several times during firmware installation. This is normal.

Create a New Wallet

After firmware installation, choose "Create new wallet" in Trezor Suite:

Your device will generate a new set of cryptographic keys that never leave the device.

Write Down Your Recovery Seed

Your device will display a 12-24 word recovery seed (Model T shows on screen, Model One uses the computer display):

This is the most important step! Write these words down in exact order on your recovery card:

  • Use the provided recovery card or a durable piece of paper
  • Never store your seed digitally (no photos, cloud storage, etc.)
  • Keep it in a secure location only you can access
Warning: Anyone with access to your recovery seed can access your funds. Never share it with anyone.
